Instructions
Thank you for being a Nebraska soccer referee!
These instructions will help you get through the licensing process for Referees that are recertifying for 2026. The following instructions will walk you through the recertification process in the Learning Center.
Note: if you already have a badge that shows “2026,” you do not need to recertify until after July 1, 2026. However, if you have a 2025 badge, these are the steps to recertify:
1. Go to the U.S. Soccer Learning Center (learning.ussoccer.com) and log in to your existing Learning Center profile. Do not create a new profile – one already exists.
2. Click here for the Referee Recertification Course.
3. If you would like to take the course in Spanish, that course can be found HERE.
4. Select Proceed to Registration.
5. Complete the payment process and then work through the online assignments. There are a total of four assignments that must be completed by everyone.
6. If you are 18 years of age or older, you must have completed the SafeSport Training and the Background Screening as required by U.S. Soccer.
7. If your SafeSport Training and/or Background Screening have expired at the time you get recertified, then you will be prompted to complete those as part of the recertification process. The cost of the Background Screening is an additional $23.00, and it is good for two years.
8. If your SafeSport Training and/or Background Screening are still valid, you will not have to complete those when you recertify. You will receive emails from U.S. Soccer thirty days prior to the date when those expire.
9. If you need help with the online portion of the Course, there is an FAQ section on the Learning Center that will answer most of your questions. That can be found at Learning Center FAQs.
10.Once you are all done with the online lessons, SafeSport Training and Background Screening (if needed), you will get your 2026 Referee badge by mail.
If you have any questions, please send an email to licensing@nrdp.soccer.
Thank you!
